This was filmed several years ago in my beloved 1999 V-reg Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 in and around my home town of Bridport, Dorset, UK.

I had the car modified to have a stainless steel exhaust, new turbo, dump valve and green air filter, and it sounded awesome (especially in tunnels, see 2:25). It could also do 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds (see 2:05). Also, sometimes flames came out the exhaust (see 3:30). Great car! Miss it.

Thanks to Charles for filming.

P.S. Don't expect to see speeding or reckless driving in this film, there's none.

  • what an amaising car you had! can you remember what make your exhaust was and what make the dump valve was? and di you get it re-mapped because its very quick to 60 !

  • @jimmymew Thanks, it was a great car. The exhaust was sources/made by Top Gear in Bridport so I don't think it was a known brand name. It was the backbox and 3" bore pipe most of the way back, but I didn't get an equal length manifold (which is why it still sounds like a flat 4). The dump valve was a Baileys. Also I had a Green induction kit (cone). Also I had a Turbo Technics turbo fitted not long after I got it because the original one screwed up (I didn't mistreat it and always idled it)

  • @jimmymew I also used higher quality fuel always which apparently the chip would slowly remap to over time. However I didn't do a proper remap, I always wanted to but didn't have the spare cash. Still it was fast for a Turbo 2000, perhaps as a result of those parts. The guy I sold it too has had it remapped and now it's even faster :-)

  • I remember your scooby, used to be parked up north allington near mrs Barnes shop ?

Didnt it used to have white or was it gold wheels at the time ?

    Sounded good..

  • @nmo888 Yep, I used to live in North Allington, and you are correct - it had gold wheels! (good memory). I used to love that beefed up flat 4 sound. It's still around Bridport with a new owner I believe.

  • Horrible cheap plasticy cars. OK they shift but interior has the feel of a 1970s Ford Cortina

  • @JakeBirkett oh its awesome. ive even decided to get an rb5 next year!

  • @stitcha123 Glad you are loving it. The dump valve and decent exhaust like you have will make it sound rad. They handle so well and the power is awesome.

  • @stitcha123 its soooo good. std apart from dump valve and prodrive exhaust. otherwise exactl same as ures, in colour and everything. they drive so well, and so much power. i love it.

  • @stitcha123 Awesome! How are you finding it?
