Now that the walled garden at Chilton has been somewhat restored, Harry and his assistant can set about the major task of preparing all the grounds, glasshouses, potting sheds, fruit house, cold frames, forcing house back to thier once former glory and produce fruit and vegetables for the 12 months that lie ahead. Everything about all the Victorian Kitchen Garden series reminds me of how my father gardened in the Home place in the west of Ireland . up to the late 1980s . his produce had the most incredible taste . and it was down to the use of farmyard manure , God bless you William Ward
