Big Daddy on This Is Your Life Pt.2. Excellent programme from 1979 featuring loads of wrestling stars from that era including Mick McManus, Giant Haystacks, Alan Dennison, Mal Kirk, Tony St.Clair, Bruno Elrington, Georgeous George & Kendo Nagasaki without the mask! How cool is that?

  • How they made a fat old man the biggest thing in british wrestling was beyond me! The 1st time Grandstand aired american wresting i was hooked, rippling guys using raw power moves made Crabtree and co look like dummies.

  • He was such a big star because his 2 brothers made him one! Max Crabtree was the most powerful man in Wrestling promotions & what he said went!

  • at 2.35 kendo without his mask and it is him u can tell if u ever seen him with out his mask on

  • Yes you're right it is him. I can't understand why some people think it isn't him. Maybe they also think he is a Japanese Samurai Warrior also! Strange to think that people still believe Kendo really is a mystery man of some sort!

  • Ty very much indeed!!!!! So glad you put the time and effort into uploading. much appreciated!

  • Thanks for you comment, this video does seem very popular!

  • Mick McManus wig is more fake than the wrestling!

  • you can slag these guys as much as you want but i guarantee that any of these would kick the living piss out of you and any american wrestler

  • Honest thanks so much wonderful to see when the britin was really broton

  • yeah TWO TONE man , still got some 7`inch "specials" and "the beat" vinyl... good stuff.

  • my father use to pick shirley and his wife up when my dad was a taxi driver in the eighties

  • how i miss the eighties when world of sport use to be on a saturday afternoon and the wrestling and horse racing use to be on great days

  • Shirley Crabtree is my uncle :)

i got told the other day by my mum as we went to his memorial, i supposedly only saw him like 5 times in my lifee

  • Excellent upload...

  • I wasn't talking about wrestling skills, though; I was talking more about the fact that the Crabtrees pushed a guy who was clearly not good enough to stay at the top, and never put on any matches that warranted such a push. Certainly, lack of ability to create new stars was one of the main problems, but it's largely tied in with the fact that they were never willing to let anyone go over Daddy.

  • in all due respect i don't think putting wrestling skills into the arguement is good as that stuff has little to do with the wrestling business. british wrestling just had trouble making new-stars i think blaming just one thing tho like the crabtrees is short sighted although they may have been unwilling to put ppl over. think it was a number of things like getting thrown off the Tv that effectively killed it. and when wwf came to britian the old men in swimming trunks didn't have a hope.
