  • I used to be ignorant of Brian's greatness as a teenage 1980's pseudo rockabilly freak...it was the rockers vs. the surfers, John Milner "Rock and roll has been going down hill ever since Buddy Holly died" attitude...as if the Beach Boys were just candy-ass fake rockers. When I grew up, I realized how stupid I was. This man's genius and contributions to popular music cannot be ignored. One of my favorite albums of late is Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin. Great stuff!

  • Some may scoff at the man who legitimately can deserve the claim of 20th century Mozart of pop music playing a Buddy Holly cover but I think it's great. We should all be happy to see Brian vibrant and performing. Hopefully his new collaborations with the Beach Boys will be a shot in the arm to mend the broken reputation of that group, especially since Carl died. After what he's been through, it sure is a great thing to know.

  • @Javier23gol I would not say better-but brilliant and different than Buddy's own original version;but it just proves the magic of Buddy's songs, that can still sound fresh over 50 years since his tragic death.I had the pleasure of seeing him live on his only UK tour-he was simply amazing;and no,the music never died,it will live forever.

  • Brian's voice still sounds so sweet! Buddy and Brian forever!

  • @michaelkenward - it adds a joyousness and celebratory aspect which wasn't in the original, which was more of a wistful, hoping it will be alright kinda song it's different but also brilliant. No way is it just a 'pastiche'.

  • A very nice version of the song .. but then again, Brian has made many such great re-makes of fabulous oldies over the years .. & in most cases, Brian's versions easily surpass the original hit song. This demonstrates just what an ear for music this wonderfully-gifted man possesses ...

  • It is a fact that eating more records keeps oneself eternally cool. ♪ ♥ ♪

  • Why is this such an underrated song :s
