A disastrous day to travel on London's Victoria Line. Leaving Euston heading southbound towards Warren Street the train in front of ours broke down in the station but ours had already moved out of the previous one and another moved in, leaving us stranded in the tunnel between the two.

After over an hour waiting in a stressful and hot environment (with good updates from the driver to be fair), the train was eventually able to edge backwards to Euston where we could exit via the unconventional means of using the driver's cockpit.

This has certainly never happened to me, and making a total journey of over 2 hours I hope to never go near the London Underground again.

To my regular subscribers, I apologise that isn't my usual content and will be back to Car videos next, I just felt that I wanted to post this clip on YouTube, thanks for your understanding.

Camera: Shot on a Sony CX520 in FullHD and uploaded in 1080p

  • Whats happened with the train??

  • @CarSpotterQVS It got stuck in the tunnel between two other trains, so had nowhere to go!

  • What does the bloke in the white shirt say about you filming?

  • @FraserLFA "You don't have to film Sir, thank you"; don't think they like things being filmed that are bad!

  • You filmed the exception rather than the rule. Sorry about your experience with the tube. Mine was very good: trains on time that didn't break down.

  • @passingbynight True, I've taken the tube many, many times, just never been stuck in a tunnel for over an hour before!

  • If I had an Aston Martin, I'd never use public transport XD

  • No surprises considering anything that comes out of the Bombardier factory in Derby quickly breaks down (ie Victoria line and new SSL trains)

  • @Shmee150 i got stuck on a GNER train for 4 hours

  • The train was already coupled with the one in front, ready to push. Overriding the signals to reach and couple with the broken train in front was probably the delay.

  • Should have carried on filming that guy.

  • whoa what an experience! Thats one of the new trains which have had 'teething' problems.

Its 'just typical' that this only happens to people who dont normally like the trains... and not one of the train fans who posts films here.

You did well to film it - so often the railway staff moan (or tell you to stop filming), even when nothing bad is happening.

  • @Shmee150 I would freek out. I start sweating when i'm stuck for a minute.

  • A brand new train broke down thats bad is that

  • @SMALTV *train, lol

  • The bus driver should have just got out and drove back!
