Why Trunks didn't seek out New Namek:

1.) He doesn't know it exists. Trunks was in his own time "when" Goku brought back Dende.

2.) He doesn't know where it is. New Namek was only found because Goku was able to recognise their ki. Trunks would have no means of locating the Namek-jin's new homeworld.

3.) He can't get to it. Trunks lacks Instantaneous Movement, and the only ship left on Earth is Dr. Brief's (unseen) ship, which we are told would take 4339 years to reach Namek.
