It was the Chicago EIGHT. Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, David Dellinger, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, John Froines, Lee Weiner, and Bobby Seale.

Seale hurled bitter attacks at Judge Hoffman in court, calling him a "fascist dog," a "pig," and a "racist," among other things.

The film is called Chicago Ten because it includes the two lawyers who were jailed for contempt by Judge Hoffman.

haven't seen the movie but i doubt they show how it really went. bobby seale lost his consciousness as they had gagged him and chained him into a chair chains so tight that he lost his consciousness. ppl in the jury were crying as cops would start beating him as he tried to move his fingers to make his blood circulate again. if i remember right, he wasnt allowed to say a word.

This whole trial was a disgrace! The judge and the cops didn't deserve to hold the positions they had! Totally disregarding people's rights, it happened even then and it still does!

@benrennik Seale wanted to defend himself instead of accepting the lawyers the other guys used, which would be his constitutional rights (as he says). The judge denied it, even though the lawyers and other defendants were cool with it. When Seale wouldn't shut up, he was restrained, then bound and gagged. Even the prosecution was like, "Dude, we have to untie him."

not sure how to feel... i mean the guy is totally out of line: the judge that is... i don't know what i would've done if given the same situation. the layers went down as well that's why it's not the chicago 7 it's the 10 -- lawyers went down as well. . . so i d k the constitutional rights are violated ... but what to do??? open pandoras box?? or when in rome do as the romans???
