Composer Marc van Delft plays for conductor Dick Bolt the final part of his work for fanfare orchestra 'Riverbank fantasy' on his piano in his home in The Hague.

This piece is a description of the fears of people who live at a riverbank for the overflowing of the river. In this case, the piece was written for the Fanfare st. Cecilia of the village of Millingen at the Rhine. This village had to be abandoned several times when the Rhine was so high that the overflowing danger was very real.

At the end after the dramatic description of the bad weather, the storm, the overflowing danger, and the efforts to save the village, one hears the Rhine-theme from the beginning of Wagners Rheingold, which expresses that the Rhine is sinking to its normal height and the danger is over.

As 'happy end' one hears the 2nd, theme of the piece, the love theme as an apotheosis, and motives of the 1st theme are the closing part of this piece.
