  • I think this guy is part woodchuck

  • question ... what is the reason behind a 1-pole,2-pole, or a 3-pole contactor? are the 3-pole contactors simply for higher voltage?

  • @theuetz Really simplfied, some electric equipment needs one live power wire to work(1 pole) some need 2 live wires (2 pole) and some need 3 live wires( 3 pole). In North America one pole and two pole contactors work on single phase ac voltage whereas a 3 pole contactor works on 3 phase voltage. Single Phase voltage is usually 115v 230v and 3 phase voltage is usually 208v 480v 575v or 600 v. Hope this helps.

  • Nice Batman Utility Belt

  • Awesome video. Thanks!!!

  • Furnas makes the best contactors.

  • @theuetz yes

  • please sent to my email : ffusanto@yahoo.com

  • i make circuit contain 1 relay to switch on 2 contactor (each contactor conect to one motor 7.5 hp/11A). the problem is when the relay switch on the contactors, the contactors can't work properly, and sparks happen. why this can be happen?

  • @theuetz

    3-pole=3 phase 240/480 motors mostly

2 pole=single phase 240 volts as in a pump or ac compressor, or 277 lighting

    1 pole=single phase

  • magnetism cause by the coils makes the contact touch the other side of the contact..... very basic ....

  • @theuetz You can switch single or polyphase...It could be you want to switch several poles in a single phase control circuit to prevent feedback.
