Volvo Cars present the world's first diesel plug-in hybrid, the new V60 Plug-in Hybrid. This car combines the best properties from three different car types into one by simply pressing a button. The car becomes an electric car with a range of up to 50 kilometres (Pure mode) or a high-efficiency hybrid with carbon dioxide emissions averaging just 49 g/km (Hybrid mode) or a muscular fun-to-drive car with a combined output of 215 + 70 horsepower, 440 + 200 Nm of torque and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of just 6.9 seconds (Power mode).

  • awesome!! we really need to appreciate technologies like this rather than those bloody super sportcars (for rich people who have a small willy)...

  • Why isn't factories making changes to their pollution? Only car-makers are envorimentally waken?? But then again... it's eco that makes money. Factory pipes cannot produce money...

  • great tech but ugly car, and... its a volvo... yuk

  • i think british airways did this commercial.

  • @MattLoaf92 I'm putting a solar PV system on my home that'll do 100% of my electric needs including charging a plug in car. If you need to finance it, the payments are a little lower than your electric bill.

  • about time!!!

  • They sound so passionate, for a moment there, i heard f*cking hybrid

  • I can't help but feeling like shouting at manufacturers when they announce a hybrid car. A hydrogen infrastructure is what we need, not hybrids that will only refocus the pressure on resources from fossil fuels to the nuclear power stations most people's electricity comes from.

  • Interesting.

  • FINALLY!!!!!!!!! A diesel hybrid!!!!!!!!!!
