I had to turn off after 2 minutes. First of all, this is an insult to Andy having this "PRO" not pronounce his name correctly. I felt like I was listening to an aspirin commercial!! Second, there is no "curse" at the windows involved with Beyer numbers--you have to work harder to find the right angel in a race at your track. Just another amateur in a suit that is envious of Andy and will never be able to carry Andy's water nor come cloe to having his millions!!!!!

what would you do if a horse's beyer speeds are in the high 90's but this is his first race in 6 months. Would you still bet him or would you bet on a lower ranked horse.

thank-you for info

In Hong Kong it's called Speed Power or Speed Figures..there's one in the HKJC website..check it out under Ref. Info once you get to the Race Card page..

Is there a substitution for beyer speeds in countries that do not show them in the racing guides, like Hong Kong? Or how would you calculate them yourself? Thanks.

Nice work on this one dave. Good info. Well explained. Thanks for putting this up.
Fellow and more experienced handicapper Richkas just informed me that these figures are pronounced BY-ER Speeds, not BAY-ER speeds as I pronounce them. I've been calling them BAY-ER speeds since I learned them and it will be a tough habit for me to crack. However, it is worth noting that the correct pronunciation is BYE-ER, not BAY-ER. Thanks Richkas!
