My apologies that this took so long to put together...

  • not to be a total troll but some of the commands in this video no longer i think this series should be updated, corrected or taken down all together because i have to reboot to get back to windows to find out if i just wrote down instructions wrong or if my computer just sucks took me a while to figure out a couple of commands like ifconfig no longer work

  • @z0m1313x50ld13r You're absolutely right. Some of the data in this series is still valid, but a lot of it has become dated. I added an annotation to the video for now.

  • How i can install Skype on Arch.

  • @decagonoful if you're on 32-bit, it should be in the core repositories. If you're on 64-bit, it's in the multilib repository. you'd have to go into the /etc/pacman.conf and uncomment the [multilib] repo lines.

  • Were you annoyed while making this video? :) Thats what it sounds like

  • @Ograws lol, a bit. I think I mentioned somewhere that I had recorded it 3-4 times, but had issues with audio sync I think.

  • I just wanted to say thank you! I followed this video before to get Arch running on my desktop machine, and it worked beautifully. I'm more of a I need to see the commands in action type of person and I thought your video was extremely helpful.

  • This is the video that helped me installing Arch Linux for the first time.

Now I ditched Ubuntu away and I use Arch Linux only (or Parabola GNU/Linux when possible).

    Thank you.

  • imma total noob I downloaded archlinux core dual and I have a VMware. I can't seem to find the boot file on the mirror I downloaded. Also there is a zipped file that won't allow me to unzip (called "archiso") maybe thats the boot file... need help plz.

  • What kind of Operating system are you using in the background??

  • @Xxmg93xX same here :/

  • I realize this is from 2 years ago, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have followed this video perfectly, but when I type ifconfig I get command not found. I also cannot ping anything. I have checked my network config in vb and I even restarted my router to see if t would work. If there are any more videos describing similar issued let me know.

  • @itsbrad212 Thanks.

  • @itsbrad212 Thank you.

  • I can't get past this part the ''pacman Syu'' part to update it gives me this error message and none of my mirorrs work they're from Ireland and UK. Any ideas? I'm sure I'm on a network and connected to the internet in my VM

  • This could have saved me about 7 hours.

    Dayum. Thanks.
