thats a longnose gar... not a 'gar pike'. Gar and pike are not even remotely related to one another. Two totally different species of fish. Cool fish none the less!

'In American English the name gar (or garpike) is strictly applied to members of the Lepisosteidae, a family including seven living species of fish in two genera that inhabit fresh, brackish, and occasionally marine, waters of eastern North America, Central America, and the Caribbean islands.' (from wikipedia)
"Gar Pike" is the common name of the Long Nose Gar in Ontario,
even though it is no more a pike, than a walleye is a pickeral.
You'll just have to get over it...
