From commercial director Mac Carter and producer Sean Welch (Spellbound, Rocket Science) comes a short film about one ordinary guy's extraordinary effort to make a difference in global warming. Commissioned for the Live Earth SOS campaign this sweet film follows Dave and his dogs as they tour Los Angeles Asian food restaurants in search of waste vegetable oil to turn into biodiesel.

Good point and true for biodiesel made from virgin food oil, such as corn or walnut oil. This is what is sold at the pump.
Using waste vegetable oil does not have that effect on the price of food because by the time I get it, its not food any more. Its waste and will be used as dog food or fertilier.
In the future, oil companies will make biofuels out of algae because it is not used as a food predominantly, and can be grown on any land with very few resources.

Using biofuels is great for reducing emissions. Won't the rising price of the underlying commodities make it harder to provide food for hungry people though? Where's the free lunch?

When you make it seem so simple. why doesnt everyone do this? Getting gas is really just as much trouble, and it didnt seem like he had to put that much effort into reveiveing peanut oil.
