Unfortunately the scene I applied these concepts to was, like i said, a render of an assault rifle, so it didn't apply 100%, but the render turned out excellently. Though a bit dark because of the ambient colors on the shaders.

I'm following your turorial atm to do a gun render. I usually follow a similar setup to what you are doing and I rarely even get anything I can feel proud of. Hoping a spotlight does a better job than deep shadow mapped distant lights.

@Grenadeh I usually find spotlights a lot better than distant lights for shadows. For me, I get a lot more control over them.

@devil1983 Sorry for the delay in response, youtube didn't do a very good job of keeping me updated - my apologies.
The render that was done for this tutorial uses an image from "Portrait Artists Backgrounds" at DAZ.

@devil1983 I tried to include a link in my last message, but youtube won't let me. If you do a search for it on the DAZ site it's not hard to find, though.
