Heart of a Bully 27 part 2

Joe: {Miley's face was livid, she was giving her dad an evil glare, not that he noticed, or if he did he ignored it. Nick just continued eating his food, he looked numbed, like he'd heard this story so many times he'd memorized it by heart, his thought of the mistake his father made him out to be was imprinted in his brain. I felt bad for him, how could someone who brought so much joy to a girl as amazing as Miley be a mistake? I wanted to make Miley happy, to make Nick happy so Miley could be happy} So you write music? {Nick looked up at me slightly confused, as to why I'd be talking to him, wondering if I was going to make a joke about it, if he should really answer or not}

Nick: Um...kinda...I guess

Joe: I tried guitar once and failed horribly, I wish I could though, write music, play all that. Girls totally go for that rockstar image. That's sick you can play.

Nick: uh...thanks

Joe No problem {I went back to eating, I could see Miley smiling slightly out of the corner of my eye, their dad had left the table, I guess mad I made Nick think what he liked was okay. I wondered if Nick's dad ever really heard him play, like stayed there and listened like I had earlier, I mean if he had, he'd have to realize how good his son actually was.}

Later
Joe: Uh...I should uh...get home...

Miley: Oh...want me to walk you

Joe: If you want, you don't have to

Miley: (Smiles slightly) I don't mind

Joe: {I couldn't help but smile at the sight of hers, and for the fact I'd spend a little more time with her. I can't believe how much I want to be around her, how much I need to now.} Okay {I said hiding the smile that was beaming bright on the inside. In the corner of my eye I saw Nick roll his eyes before making his way up the stairs...that's right I'm the ass hole, no one wants me especially Miley, she's just being nice like she always has been. We started down the street, walking towards the diner my mom worked at. Silence in the air, I really didn't know what to say, I just looked ahead waiting for the sight of my destination}

Miley: So sorry about my dad

Joe: (Shrugs) it's fine...(hesitates) sorry he was being a douche to Nick

Miley: (sighs) I mean...he's still my dad...and I love him...I just- (sighs) He had this perfect plan for a son, and Nick's his own person...dad just can't get past that

Joe: {I sighed as I came to a stop in front of the diner my mother worked at} Well I guess I'll see you {was all I could say, knowing she probably wanted reassurance of how her father was acting a 'it'll get better' or something, but I just didn't know what to say, or how to say it.}

Miley: (puts on a smile) Yeah, see ya. Bye (Smiles again before she turns to leave towards her home again)

Next Day
Joe: {As lunch was half way threw its time, I walked around the campus, wondering if Miley was okay or Jamie had tired something else on her. I made a trip to the locker that stored her the day before just to make sure it wasn't her current place again. I smiled slightly finding it to be empty as it should and made my way back to my own locker. As I was about to round the corner I heard the sound that was so familiar to me, one that I was usually the cause of the sound of someone hitting into a locker...}
