Election Environment Forum: National Parks

Question: What are your long term plans for building the NSW national park estate, and what measures will you take to improve park management?

Our 820 National Parks and reserves protect a diversity of native plants, animals and critical water catchment areas, and provide climate change refuges. However, NSW has the second lowest percentage of protected areas of Australian states. There are still many regions virtually unrepresented in parks, and the existing parks are under threat from weeds, pests and lack of sufficient management.
