Over the summer a pair of Common Marmosets arrived at the brand new animal unit . The Male was very protective of his mate, while helping her to settle in to their new surroundings. No wonder he was so attentive over his lady she was already 4 months pregnant!
As her abdomen expanded we were on the edge of our seats thinking today will be the day but somehow she just got bigger and bigger until Monday 7th November 2011 she finally gave birth.
In the video you can see their single offspring on the back of the mum. We are currently running a competition for staff and students in aid of Cancer Research UK to name Mum, Dad and Baby.
