The official was protecting himself? You never played a game of football nor watched one. Officials are considered by all to be a part of the field. If the official does not want to get hit, the official has to do one of 2 simple things... Either step to the right or step to the left.
There really was no reason to stand there all deer-in-the-headlights and knock the kid to the ground.

it is a 10 year felony to assult a ref in florida. also that umpire was protecting himself, maybe if some of you morons knew anything you would shut up. try being an official and not having the same gear the players have.

ok all u guys are saying " your a bitch for getting knocked down by an 80 year old" but anyone can get knocked down by any aged person if not expecting it, he was probably expecting the ref to move or get out of way like most refs, and for all you know the ref played some ball in his days as well.
