We've got the brand new MacBook Air in our hands... before we review it, along with iLife 11, what do you want to know?

  • Why couldn't you use the USB to transfer your files? There are 2 USB on the macbook air. Please post up a video showing how fast it boots up, shuts down, and wakes from sleep and anything else you find that is worth reviewing.

  • @ram2tone Check out the full review here: electricpig.co.uk/2010/11/02/macbook-air-review/

as for the USBs - Migration Assistant only supports Firewire for Mac-to-Mac transfers. Otherwise, you need a beefy external hard drive, plenty of patience with Wi-Fi, or an ethernet adapter (sold separately)

  • Do you miss backlight much?

  • @nolervik Not as much as I expected, but yes, a little... shame they couldn't / wouldn't squeeze it in.

  • You could have bought the $29 Apple USB Ethernet Adapter and saved the 17 hours.

  • @markbyrn If I'm paying over £1,000 for a laptop, which is designed as a secondary computer, I'd really expect that sort of thing to be included in the box. It really ruins the out of box experience. Full thoughts here: electricpig.co.uk/2010/11/02/macbook-air-review/

  • is it coming a macbook air 17 inches?? :D

  • idiot. who want to to know this shit ??

  • I don't know what size MacBook I should get. I am a student so what would you suggest?

  • is the 13inch have the keyboard light ??

  • @electricpigtv I agree that Apple should include the adapter but that wasn't my point. The video said there was no other way to make the transfer and my comment was to was simply to mention the fact that a USB Ethernet adapter was available to do the job. It would be nice if Lord Jobs included the adapter and the overpriced add-on superdrive in the box but me thinks that's not going to happen.

  • @electricpigtv Came up in related videos brosepherton.

  • @Maqanq Depends what you want it for. Life on the road, with a 2nd Mac / PC at home? Go for the Air. If it's going to be a do-it-all-anywhere-you-are machine, then go for the extra grunt of the Pro.
