You also can't argue with an atheist by saying something would have been stated in the bible. To an atheist, that says nothing. If you can accept what a book says because someone down the line told you to, then you can accept anything if it's said convincingly. One problem with religion, is that people stop bothering to educate themselves and make their own decisions, but rather choose to remain in ignorance and blindly follow a human made theory, invented before we knew the earth was round...

So life starts at conception, that's fine. If you truly believed in the value of a life, then you would understand how many lives are filled with misery, poverty, and disease, a path that was chosen for them before they were born. However, had the mother and/or father been responsible enough to know they couldn't properly care for the child, they could have waited five years until they had the economic resources, the intelligence, and the maturity to give the child a meaningful, fulfilling life.
