DRIVERS SHINE IN HISTORIC FINAL ROUND OF BAHRAIN DRAG RACING SERIES
________________________________________

Bahrain International Circuit, 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', enjoyed an historic final round of the 2010/2011 Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship on Friday night, with a massive turnout of over 10,000 spectators enjoying the racing spectacle at the Sakhir quarter-mile strip.

DragRacingFinals (1).jpgThe event was held as part of the first-ever 'National Racing Finals', which paired the drag racing series with the Bahrain International Circuit 2000cc Challenge, to make for a fantastic day of the best of local racing.

Events on the strip were organised by the Bahrain Drag Racing Club, which falls under the umbrella of the Bahrain Motor Federation, and it was held under the auspices of Bahrain International Circuit.

Apart from all the racing, those in attendance also got to enjoy plenty of off-the-track entertainment. Further, they had a chance to sign a pair of books -- one pledging their loyalty, love and belonging to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the country's leadership, and the other in support of a quick return of the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix to the island.

Back on the strip, action was intense as drivers in both the cars and motorbikes categories were determined to end their seasons on a high note.

In the Pro Mod class, Bahraini Tareq Hadi clinched first place after winning the final race in 6.749secs. He defeated Saad Al Maran, who had a time of 6.888secs. Kuwaiti Abdullah Al Sori finished third overall with a mark of 7.445secs in the semi-final.DragRacingFinals (7).jpg
