Long Way Down - Ewan & Charley testing out the BMW R1150GS and KTM Adventure's

I'M GETTING A KTM HURRAH!!! In my excitement, I've gone KTMental so decided to upload this.. This documentary was out in 2003-2004 so the 950 adventure's are getting on a bit now, but KTM sorted this out by bringing out the 990 adventure in 2007 :D happy days.. This movie series was the best promotion BMW could ever imagine to get - almost every BMW adventure rider knows it. And I guess after that someone needed to take it's hat at KTM - the worst marketing descission they ever made by any company, not to sponsor Charly and Ewen! Or maybe they where themselfs not conviced of the reliablity of their bikes? :-)

Ask me again in one, two years, have been owning a 990 Adv for six months now!

well KTM made a right royal mistake but then they were/are a much smaller company than BMW, so giving away 3 brand new bikes worth around £45k wouldn't be as big a deal to BMW. Also, I do wonder if BMW had contracted in that they had the last say in what info/footage was allowed to be broadcast if their bikes suffered any technical issues?

No doubt they're cracking bikes & BMW have done incredibly well off the back of it though!

i honestly think it would of cost bmw a fortune to do this trip and ktm would not of had that sort of money and to insure mcgreger alone and let him go threw countrys what would kidnap people i bet one of the crew was a sas bloke and i also think a lot was staged .and i carnt really see why they got all this publicity theres loads of people done it before them and also me and my brother rode 2 90cc chinching monkey bikes not honda as they would not sponsor us for charity from london to mongolia
