A very short old preview of hair and cloth simulation of my latest project: "Narusegawa Live!" made with 3d Studio Max 8
This is the entrance to the stage of the character. The hair behavior improved a little bit but it doesn't fill right yet.
On the other hand, the skirt looks quite nice. A lot of "interpenetrations" and anomalies happened during the first trials between the different plates of the skirt, even with "Check intersections" checked. Therefore, I assigned each group of vertexes to different layer to help the simulator to detect which plate was "on top" the other. Once done that, the simulation didn't run into that problem again.
