when the double flaps are working as windshield wipers, where do bugs and debris that may have been collected from the side panels end up

I think i spied a couple dozen mo-skee-toes, 5 black flies and 2 green heads slip in while the top was crawling open. Is there any harm in driving more than a few miles with the camper up and walled off on unimproved pot hole roads to avoid such things as biting insects or horizontal wind blown rain upon set up?

This idea of having the cabover doors go up and close automatically was tried years 20 years ago by a competitor and didn't work. The competitor is no longer in business because, what was thought to be a good idea became a nightmare, and the competitor has long since gone out of business.

@javarama The 4" worked fine and the 8" requires a higher lift not shorter doors.

@javarama Ideas that don't work are not what we look for. We look for proven applications and we test all new ones before offering or suggesting them to our customers. The Diesel fired toilet, like the composting toilet are totally impractical in and RV due to size, expense and ancillary costs.

@javarama Constructive comments are appreciated, but without specifics we can only say this: we are always looking at ways to improve, but they have to benefit the customer and NOT add to the cost.

Change for change sake does not benefit the customer.

with the top , which means that you wouldn't have to crawl up into the area to do it your self every time you set up and take down. The side panels could be made shorter so as to use a FULL size , ( 8" thick ) Tempurpedic mattress. They already offer a Tempurpedic mattress , but it is only 4" thick , and agianst the hard bottom of the cabover is just not comfortable enough. The owners will argue differently , but that just proves my point that they really don't care about their owners thoughts

But that would take a LITTLE extra thinking and work. Something the owners don't seem to be interested in undertaking . The toilet could also be of a diesel design. A diesel toilet would incinerate all waste which means you wouldn't have to carry it around with you , or go through the messy ,( and sometimes illegal) , job of tossing it out , or have to smell it every time you go to use it. A system of guides could also be incorporated to automatically raise the cabover side panels along
