Civil wars are a time of deep social unrest, when brother fights brother and father fights son. The battle of Marston Moor was one of the bloodiest battles of the english civil war, the heart of king charles army was hacked to bits, and then hundreds of dead were shoveled into mass pits that were never consecrated, and Many modern visitors to the battlefield have reported encounters with 17th century soldiers.

  • while exiting Gettysburg in a remote area of the battlegrounds, we were kind of shocked to see 2 men dressed as confederates just leaning on a fence. There was no reason for them to be right there, as there was no reenactments going on that day. We wondered why would these 2 be in an area where there was literally no one else around as it was getting dark.

  • im not from England and dont know so much about the that war, but i belive what they say about the ghosts and what happening there.

  • I have visited Marston Moor a number of times, and although it's a beautiful area, it has a heavy, brooding atmosphere- not surprising after the dreadful events that took place there.

  • jon is cute

  • The Battle of Port Hudson; 1863 in Louisiana; for MANY years people living near the battlefield hear sounds of cannon and musket. I am a Vietnam Vet; and I will be buried there with my Brothers and Sisters; in the National Cemetery.

My great - great - great- great- great- great grandfather was at that war and still being spoken about it to this day with my family!... so i don't need to read anything!!!! so be careful how YOU shoot off YOUR hip and MOUTH! My reading skills are just fine, maybe more so than you can read the Archie comic books!
