This worked perfect for my E39 528i. The only difference is the wiring harness and there is only one clip in the middle, instead of two.

Thanks for the video help. I had a load of trouble removing the door panel from my E39 5-series - I managed to undo all the clips around the perimeter but could not release the panel until I saw your rotating backwards & forwards trick - thanks again. Tony in UK
