Global warming, gun control, multiculturalism, public schools, welfare, policing the world, spreading democracy...all of these are religions. They don't work very well for their stated purpose but that was never the point. These programs were designed to make their supporters feel better; by that standard they are stunningly successful. So successful, in fact, that opposition causes jihads and pogroms.

The more I watch John Stossel these days the more I think he doesn't care about facts, he cares about his ideology. He just has a way of seeming more reasonable than your average ideologue.

That's a tough charge to defend. Stossel's a Libertarian, and as far as I know he's the only semi-major news personality that is an open Libertarian, though I could be wrong.
So even if Stossel IS an ideologue, he's an independent voice among all the conservatives and liberals. Stossel is closer to Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman than Beck or Hannity.
