Designed under the theme "Relax in Style" the latest Toyota Corolla, the Rumion, was unveiled in Tokyo today. With a clean, box-like exterior, this latest compact vehicle has vertical and horizontal lines emphasizing the low center of gravity and the width of the car. The exterior features a large lower grille, wheel fender flares, and a wide-opening hatch door with straight lines and a sculpted bumper. The "Aero Tourer" models have front and read spoilers, side mudguards and a rear roof spoiler. The open interior features a functional and unique instrument panel, a glossy black and silver center console and a sound system with 9 speakers, including a rear sub-woofer. The versatile seat arrangement and storage space increases the functionality of the vehicle for numerous applications. The Corolla Rumion comes with a 1.5 or 1.8 liter super CVT-i engine, with the 1.8 liter model featuring a seven-speed Sports Sequential Shiftmatic transmission. Toyota expects monthly sales to be in the area of 3,500 units.

@bestideayet no such thing, the U.S. version only gets 6 speakers in the xB while the Aussie and Japanese version get 9 speakers (1 subwoofer included).

I blame Scion's lame marketing model for the U.S.'s lame configurations. They want to keep the prices down but with their no factory options price model which is linked to their no haggle pricing, it means everyone is stuck with the the basics.

the car should have had a 7 speed in the US instead of the fuel robbing 4 speed that was state of the art in the late 80's.... Even the 6 speed trannies in the 2010TC would have been better
