This old working narrowboat comes by my moorings regularly. It's traveling at normal speed: The speed limit on the canals is 4Mph. Just listen to that engine. I'm guessing a single cylinder two stroke diesel

  • yes i think so; a single cylinder two stroke diesel...

    These can have a 'hit and miss' injector governor, which means that it has no throttle as-such, but a governor that only lets it inject when the revs drop. This makes it sound like an under- loaded 2 stroke petrol. Lovely relaxed sound

  • Semi-Diesel (hot bulb).

  • Yeah, a 9hp on nb Dane unless I'm much mistaken...

  • A nice old Bolinder, by the sound of it.
