  • Good short! I found this because I was searching on anamorphics. However, I was quite pleasantly surprised to find a good short amongst all the anamorphic "test" videos. I lost track of the narration, it was a bit hard to follow. I enjoyed this, though :) The cinematography was great, no accidental camera movements and the 16F lens adds a really unique look and feel. I enjoyed the performance from the detective as well, silent is hard to do with projecting yourself. I hope to see more from you!

  • Thanks so much for watching! I love the anamorphic look and nothing beats shooting with the real thing.

  • Do you think the Nikkor 50mm lens is a good choice than the Canon 50mm f1.8 (which I have) I know focal can be a pain with them.

  • I like the way the Nikkor's look as they are older lenses. The Canon's are too sharp for my taste. It really comes down to what kind of look you are going for. The Canon is a very good lens, but I was just looking for something that made the image a bit softer.

  • did you crop the video? Because I thought the 16F is a 2x lens, but the aspect ratio of your film looks more like 1.33x?

  • I cropped the video in Avid. The original image is a 3.55:1 aspect ratio so I resized the image to create a 2.40:1 aspect ratio, which just cuts off the sides but keeps the vertical height.

  • @201bradrag You're welcome, and I agree completely. That's why I've been on the hunt for a good anamorphic for quite some time. It's not a cheap thing to get into, sadly.

  • Fantastic !!! Great story and it looks beyond great !!!

  • It's a great lens! Can't wait to see what you shoot with it!
