Youtube user Sterling501 built a Nitro Conversion TREX 500. In this video he is test flying and leaning out the motor. Great flying as always and a great looking bird he built. Filmed at Baysude RC club in Fremont, CA USA.

Also decided to make some custom music for this one. You won't find any copyrighted material on my youtube page.

  • Hi, can u please show the inside conversions under the canopy please. howz the clutch work in these? does it get controlled by the motor speed or have servo installed in em? whats the flying weight now?

  • @AfghanKnight007 Hey sorry I was just the camerman. But you can message YouTube user sterling501 and ask him maybe for some pics. It's his heli. He says he loves it. It super powerful now that he has it all broke ini and tuned. Thanks for the comment.

  • hi buddy great flying. what nitro engine r u using? does it fit easy. i have a battery one.. Thanks

  • I have a trex 500 but my issue is that Im having problems with lipos on this heli, just cant stop flying til the lipo gets almost completely drained. It is for me the best size of helicopters, big enough to see it and not too expensive to repair. Dont know much about flybarless, but think I saw that theres more electronics to handle and for me it is more than enough to make the gyro work. Thanks for letting me know about the kit, would buy in a month or two...

  • Well Sterling501 owns the heli & he is the one that was flying it. I was just filming. No issues beyond any other nitro heli. Engine has to be finely tuned & mixed oh and broken in. He was still tweaking the mixture when this video was taken. The only other issue is that it is a bit expensive. You gotta buy a 500 and also the conversion kit. He says he spent a bit over $1200. Personally I would rather build a flybarless 500 than a nitro for that amount cash. But yes, VERY POWERFUL setup he has.

  • Nice flight! looks very powerfull. Any issues about the conversion kit or engine??? How many flights do you have on it? Thinking about buying it...

  • I few it a few times this weekend. It just gets better and better. The engine is broken in and has a ton of power now.

  • Little!! Yeah that thing is a BLAST to be sure. One heck of a job you did on that thing. Zoom zoom.
