This is an ex-Southern line that runs from Norfolk to the ocean front in Virginia Beach, VA. It is about 13 miles long and hasn't seen a train since late fall of 2002. This line was used "as needed" in the day, and saw mostly rock/stone trains. Occasionally a boxcar or flatcar, or even a line of gondolas, but mostly hoppers. It went out of use when it's one customer on the line decided to transport product by truck, instead of train. Freight trains went about 10-15 mph along these tracks. The city wants to use this right-of-way as a light-rail transit line in the future. Half of the line in Norfolk is already under construction for the light-rail.
@tdluvs Yes, the light rail should open soon. They have redone the tracks for service up until the Virginia Beach city line. As of today, the section of tracks in Virginia Beach remain in this condition.

@NateNATENate19 Amtrak is supposed to start coming to Norfolk in 3 years or less. The track in this video has been redone with concret ties for the new light rail system.

In Pennsylvania, they leave exempt crossings alone

So depressing. I hate seeing shut down railroad.

You can't, it's on analog format, and I don't have the hardware to convert the analog signal to a digital signal. Sorry! :(
