My chief instructor was an SKI man, I learned karate with him until yondan. JKA katas are fast these days but what sets the Kanazawa katas apart is the power. He has speed when necessary but if anyone was a recipient of any of his strikes, they would be demolished. Kanazawa katas are more realistic not showy.

Oh my goodness, missingkalest you are so ignorant to come and say Mr Kanazawa is not a 10th dan. I do not belong to SKIF, I am with Shihan Yahara KWF. But that matters not. Shihan Kanazawa is respected and a well know 10th dan world wide. Did you just start in the art? Oh maybe you where just joking and we did not catch it? Oss!

I dont know why such hatred of Kanazawa, but your criticisms are unfair. First of all, if you compare his videos to those of Luca Valdesi or JKA teams you will notice that they rush through their katas as much or more than Kanazawa. In respect to his seminars, I havent attended any, but any karate seminar is more about inspiration and highlights of important points. There are no secrets that he or any other master can unveil.
