John Shea is the greatest Lex Luthor to ever grace any screen. Moreover, he owns the greatest performance for a comic book villain I've ever seen. He's unbelievably, powerfully sinister. L&C was sometimes overly campy, but Shea managed to play Luthor as the most menacing villain a person could imagine. Great stuff.

Some of you say that it is easy to notice that Clark is Superman. But , Clark has a different personality. The glasses are just support.

Earlier in the episode when Lois and Clark are admiring Lex's home and office, he shows them the balcony and says that it's the highest building in Metropolis, and that he gets a lot of satisfaction from knowing that everyone in the city must look UP to see him. Hence his surprise at Superman's comment. Nice bit of writing.

WHy does Lex Luthor look so shocked or suprised at the end when he sees Superman flying?

Meh, I just felt there were too many cheesy episodes outside of the Lex episodes. I liked the Trask episodes and I'm just starting to watch the Krypton episodes which seem good, but everything else for the most part has been corny and too formulaic to me.

Are you kidding me. It's not like this show when Lex Luthor wasn't shown sucked.

Was the Superman 90s TAS at all inspired from this scene when Lex Luthor talks to Superman the first time, and tells him that whether people are aware of it or not they work for him. Thanks for Posting this I think I'm going to use this scene for my Final in Voice for the Actor.

I dont see how anybody could not tell that Supes is Clark Kent. All you have to do is look through the glasses.

The present S was in his spaceship, and Martha Kent stitched it at the last moment on this "prototype" suit.
