More changes from SNES/VC to GBA. This video focuses on Starting up and Saving the game.

1.Starting up the Game:

SNES/VC. Can get ready in under 30 seconds.
When you see the master sword it flashes multiple of colours. The triforce screen has a high pitch.

"LINK TO THE PAST" text is silver.
The gold piece on the master sword looks like an oval, eye shape. The spark goes through the middle of the blade. The handgrip is red in the inside.

GBA. You need to wait for the file select then you got to choose Link to the Past, after that, starting a new game has a unavoidable prolouge of the game. When you see the master sword it flashes only the white colour. The triforce screen has a high pitch but a little deeper than the SNES.

"LINK TO THE PAST" text here is gold/yellow
The gold bit on the Master Sword is a simple circle shape. The spark goes through the left side of the blade. The hand grip is no longer red in the inside.

2,Shield Shop.

SNES/VC it's called a shield shop because you can buy the fire shield (Level 2 shield). There's moblin like enemies and cyclop bombers.

GBA: New enemy introduced. GBA exclusive. They are called Like Like(s). They are known as shield eaters. They only appear in this screen and Palace of 4 Sword. I show you what they do and how many hits it take before they die. The Shop has changed where you can collect your lost shield.
Prices may vary along the game progress (especially the shield you currently hold).

3.Sword vs Sign.
SNES/VC any sword won't destroy the sign.
GBA: Swords not including the fighter sword can destroy the sign.

4.Pyramid:

SNES/VC: Big in 1 screen, nothing much to notice.
GBA: There's a new hole and that takes you to Palace of 4 Sword you can mirror glitch to get into there or complete both LTTP and Four Swords multiplayer.*
*This clip the LV1 Shield is yellow because of a GAMESHARK code to show you about the Like Likes eariler on.

5.Saving the Game at Light world.

After getting the mirror you can save the game and choose 3 different locations.

House, Santuary or Mountain.

You can't save and Continue.

GBA: You can save and Continue and even if you quit you can continue almost exactly where you are
EG. Dungeon Entrance.

You lose to continue at the Mountain area though.

6.Saving at the Dark World.

Similar to the Light world but you can only continue at 1 place you don't get a select location screen.

GBA: Now with continue at save point feature you can now continue exactly where you are at the Dark world other than just continuing at the pyramid.

Kinda meantioned but after completing LTTP you go to the LTTP title screen it says Continue and NEW Game. Going to new Game doesn't save automaticlly on top of your current one. You just play it straight away with no prolouge.

7. Mid air Save glitch.
SNES/VC only glitch.

You save in mid air like the one shown then continue on any file. Mainly the file you've just used. And continue at your House. Then you got outside and get hit by a guard. You then go underground in the overworld. You can't go anywhere like the underworld by mirror glitching on GBA.
The best way to use it is early in the game right after you've rescue Zelda then jump off a ledge and save in midair. Then continue get hit by guard and then you can go almost anywhere just like the Mirror Glitch.

  • That's not the original LoZ:Link to the Past, It's Wii's Virtual ware, which defeats the purpose of the SNES showing. Get a better SNES >:(

  • @HeroChao132

You've got no evidence that it's the Virtual Console version.

  • @Greenalink 1.) The Trees at 1:36.

    2.) Darker screen, Improving Quality.

  • @HeroChao132

    1) The Trees at 1:36 are normal because I performed the Death Mountain Descent trick.

    2) You can adjust brightness easily on the video itself (or even on the PC monitor). This video was produced with an SNES9x emulator, not Virtual Console.

  • I remember losing my Mirror shield to a Like-Like. I was like, "NUUEEEZZ! MY SHIELD!! DAMN YOU ANUSES FROM HELL!!"

So I went for the longest time without it. I even beat the game without it. Hell, I beat the Four Shadow Links without it. Then, as I was adventuring around like a dork one day, I came upon that shop.

I just fell silent and beat the crap out of my pillow and screamed "WHY?!?!"

But now all is good. :D

  • @CMOODO So is using Windows Movie Maker ;)

Fortunately I rarely use emulators unless it's a TAS run and I use AVISynth and/or Adobe Premiere Pro 7 for editing.
