@cherylwhoa we used to have bags of milk in Alberta but you probably were not born yet... maybe 25 years ago?. Plus once the carton became available we liked that better and soon the bag was no longer.

not all of Canada drink milk out of bags! -__- its depends on the province i guess, cuz in British Columbia we don't drink milk in bags we drink then from cardboard cartons and plastic cartons -_-

Americans caught onto milk in bags a long time ago, which is why young Americans are unfamiliar with them.
Polyethylene is recyclable, unless you make it into a bag and put food into it. At that point it is cost prohibitive to try to clean it so that it can be recycled. In Ontario, like everywhere else, milk bags are not recycled, they go to landfills. Most of America has laws restricting non-recyclable food packaging, which is why milk is no longer sold in bags in most of America.
