I find when dealing with the Bible - It is very accurate. Jesus said we shall not know the day or the hour... what does that leave?
Month?
Year?
Generation?

In my own studies I have found 7 & 6 repeat a lot.
They really repeat on 6/7/1967 when the Jews captured Jerusalem.
They repeat again this June 7th - 42 years after the capture of Jerusalem and near 42 months prior to this 12/20/2012 date we read so much about. 42 = 6 x 7

I think he is talking about His first coming... that's why Jesus wept when he road in on the donky because NOBODY knew.. and all they had to do was read the scripture.
Now, nobody knows when the rapture happens (we can get close) but His second coming we will know to the day like His first coming (7 years after the signing of the peace treaty).. READ the scripture! dont be like the people at his first coming. "ignorant"
