At last, the mystery is revealed! The truth behind the mysterious "broke Scrooge" ending hidden in the game. It exists, you -can- get it, and here it is!

The secret is, there is a VERY obscure trick that I just now learned about. During a stage, you can press Select, and it will refill your energy, but it will cost you $3,000,000. This is the only way I know you can spend money aside from the Idol in the Amazon.

So, what you need to do is get to the final area with a total money that's a multiple of $3 million. $6 million is the easiest to do, you could in theory do $9 or $12, but why? If you want to try this, I would suggest doing The Moon last, you can pick up a lot of cash there, you can do it twice thanks to Launchpad, and if you get too much money the Beagle Boys at the end are more than willing to take some cash off your hands. Just time getting the last treasure right (it's $1,000 per second left), and you should finish with the right amount.

Then, just spend your money on health as you get damaged, and once you're broke, finish off Drac and get the treasure. Enjoy!

  • This ending doesn't make sense, at least for me. If Scrooge lost all the money, why Dewey, Huey and Louie are still congratulating you like you won? I don't get it.

  • @XJVHS He did win, in that he found the 5 treasures he was searching for. It just cost him every penny he had.

  • i don't mean to sound stupid but how the hell did you find this game, years after it's release on nintindo can you or anyone tell me what other console is out there that plays this game?

  • @PheremoneJ You can still find NES systems and games at various used game shops. It's not that hard.

This video, however, was recorded using an emulator. Do a search for "NES Emulation".

  • hahaha

  • Lost all his money in his search for the treasures

Consider himself rich because he have his nephews at his side

    You gotta love that duck

  • @SpikeLanta Whether Huey is still kidnapped or not carries over from the first time you play Transylvania, actually. If you saved him the first time you play the level, Webby isn't there when you go to face Dracula Duck.

  • You actually get $1000 per ten seconds left in the NES version, rounded down (so if you end a level with 239 seconds left, you get $23,000, and not $24,000 or $23,900). The Game Boy version is far more generous, with $1000 per second, which makes it pretty worthwhile to deliberately kill yourself before facing the boss, then beating the boss with over 400 seconds left.

  • man, i had no idea this existed. I mean even Nintendo Power didn't tell anyone about this, and normally they tell everything, including hidden secrets. Also, before you fought dracula, webby says hueys still kidnapped. So if you finish the game without rescueing him, why does he appear in the ending? LOL

  • @mfighter96 I did no such thing,in fact, if anything, I proved it was even more impossible.
