Turning now to the Gymnastics World Championships in the Netherlands where Chen Yibing has claimed gold in the men's rings event for China. The Beijing Olympic Champion, winning his third still rings world championship.
Qualifying for the final for China were Chen Yibing and Yan Mingyong who would come in second.
Chen Yibing, certainly in the spotlight...but not only because he is the Beijing Olympic Champion and is a former world champion...but because of what happened at last year's World Championships.
After getting off to a flying start in the preliminary rounds, Chen made a tough mistake in the finals. On his dismount from the rings, his leg got hung up. As a result the Chinese star was disqualified, leaving him in tears.
This year though, Chen Yibing did not disappoint. He performed a perfect routine, and when it came time to make a landing...Chen stuck it. The lost gold of last year, coming back to Chen this year. The relief on his face clear as he is the World Champion.
