  • How do you stop it from getting all tight?

  • @evascrafts - Don't pull the yarn too tight. If you keep the yarn loosely fed through your hand, then it won't get tight. Just try to relax while you do it and focus more on getting used to holding the needles. It's a lot like learning how to hold chopsticks for the first time.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the comments everyone. For the record, this was my very first set of videos filmed in 1 minute sections on a very old digital camera.

I'll try to get an updated set of knitting videos up in the next few weeks. As you can probably tell, quilting is really my main focus.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @lcvday - yes, I am trying to get the feel of it. Sometimes I get it, then it goes again! Also some of my casting loops get thicker and seem to twist round... and then it gets hard to get off.

  • lol i knitting with my friends and her knitting needle popped out of her hand lol

  • @lcvday - thanks. What I did which really helped me was to change the needle to a smaller size 4 so I wouldn't get these 'scary holes' and I started to relax a lot more.I noticed that there was a nice flow of hand movement in your videos which made it look like it was coming naturally, I didn't have that at all, now I can do knitsnitch at long last. The trick is that you should relax and pull the right needle into the loop and pull towards you then up, and it naturally moves, without forcing.

  • THANK YOU~!!!! I got it down right away! I am already half way through knitting my scarf! ^_^

  • Thanks for the tutorial!
