This is an interview that I (Mark Kleis) conducted of Mark Fields, who is the President of the Americas and Executive Vice President of Ford Motor Company. I got to speak with Mr. Fields about the current 2010 Ford Taurus launch (wicked sweet car), as well as doing some reflecting of Ford of the past and some insight into what we can expect from Ford in the future.
He may have just misspoken. 1908 was a big year (introduction of the model T) and he may have just crossed the dates. There is also technically some gray area with the start of Ford and when Henry Ford became the majority owner and president, which I think wasn't until 1906.
Good interview. Yeah, I wondered why he said 1908 too. I like your closing question. Next time be sure to get better microphone pick-up/placement. It was difficult to hear him sometimes.

Thanks! I interviewed Mark Fields in Los Angeles. I hope to interview Mr. Fields again with a different set of questions in Dearborn.
