  • Many thanks. I was doing this wrong.

  • If you wait for the coals on top to get coated with ash, the ones on the bottom will be nearly spent already. Dump it when the coals are only about halfway there. They will ash over in the grill in 5-10 minutes.

  • They just went on sale at end of summer clearance for 5.99 at Kmart. I just got one myself.
