I wasn't going to go looking for the drum notations (sorry Jimmy Cobb), but I did find the sheet music for Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers.

Looking at this I can see that I could play the notes that Miles played - they don't look at all hard. It wouldn't sound like Miles though. He did so much more than just play the notes.
