And the hero (actually the leader of the group on screen) who is smoking cigarette and walking indifferently is none but Swarup Dutta. It was his debut film. Being tall debonaire and handsome he appeared very few films. Apart from 'Apanjan' in 'Pita Putra', 'Ekhoni', 'Sagina Mahato' or 'Andha Atit' he charmed the audience. But unfortunately he appeared for a very short spell. Now he passes a life behind curtain in Ballygunje.

yes @jibansil...I am from that area, you are right, this song is picturised around the non-existent nabin sangha;s soccer field (a little of that is left with the Golf Gardens park and the road, this field actually went upto the golf club boundary then)... also Kalabagan park. the T intersection behind 62 block hari pada dutta lane and Tolygunge cementry......

This film was created on the backdrop of the period prior to the naxalite movement in the late sixties or early seventies. Heard from parents as they saw the entire shooting in Golf Gardens area.

Robi thakur tho amader sab diye gelen. Alas amra thakur baniye dewale chhobi tangiye dilam. Chinmoy Chattopadhyay's rendition of this song is the best I have heard.
