As many of you may know, our Precious was paralyzed from the waist down this passed March 9th. Well, after almost 2 months of therapy including acupuncture and electrical stimulation, she has started to walk again! She's not fully mobile yet, but is making huge progress. Here is a video of her yesterday in the tub wagging her tail a mile a minute, and walking and kicking her back legs! Miracles baby! Miracles!

  • @Sheri451 yeah that's a good idea! congratulations on the job!!

  • @doronm63 I finally got a job. So I'll get some as soon as I get my first paycheck. I think I'll call Pet Smart to see what sizes of steps they have.

  • @Sheri451 I strongly recommend buying them as soon as possible!

  • @doronm63 My Mom is always saying she's going to buy some steps for Lucky. But I guess I'll have to.

  • @Sheri451 well, it all depends on the vet. the first thing you need to do is find out if your vet, or another vet in your area, does electro accupuncture. that's the first thing. the next thing is to keep your Doxie from jumping on and off the furniture. that is so bad for their long backs. Try getting those pet steps and put them at the bed and sofa and train him to go up and down those steps.

  • @doronm63 How much does this cost? We have a Dachshund too and he loves to jump off our beds and off the sofa. He already messed up his back a few years ago, but the Vet said two of discs fused together.

  • @Sheri451 yeah, she's a miracle. she doesn't even need the therapy anymore. She walks. She runs. We walk her on her leash every evening after she eats her dinner, along with our other 2 dogs. She still needs to have her bladder squeezed, etc, since she has no control of that area, but regardless, she walks, and is quite a miracle dog! Bottom line, if you have a dog that becomes paralyzed due to a slipped disc, or whatever, consider electro accupuncture. It really works!!

  • I think she's doing a great job of walking in the tub. They do water therapy on people too.

  • @melieche yes she is. and yes they do. she runs around all the time now.

  • How cute!!! Miracles do happen!-3
