@u2baah Hasn't it? At least back then it was actually about the quality of music. Not "how-much-return-on-investment
" they got. All the nominated the songs seemed to be respectful works of art. To be mentioned along Neil Diamond, Harry Nilsson, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Don McClean is already an honor in itself.

It is surprising that Don McLean didn't win with "American Pie"...I loved that as a kid. But Roberta Flack's song "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is lovely. I liked her as a kid too. But "American Pie" is iconic, I would say, and a lyrically excellent. I think those lyrics are stuck in people's heads.

This is so Great to see, I Wish Donny had did More Television. #30 years after his death the New generation really wants to see Footage of him.Hopefully Rhino or Reeling in the Years Productions will research & Pull it together The Television that he did, and release it. Their was more than what has Surfaced .He did a Bill cosby Tv Special & PBS Concert in 1972 & Him & Roberta have a Recorded a Concert together. At some point we will see it
