laid out all the joists, posts and rails for a coat of Kilz exterior "oil-based" sealer / primer, this stuff is the best I've used and very reasonably priced. oil-based is a little harder to find, everybodies got the water based but I've learned the hard way to use oil based primer on soft woods. the added benefit is you can use any paint, either oil or water based over this primer, no problemo. I'm sold. lol. this has got to be the most tedious part of this job and I KNEW IT too. I reeeeally hate to paint but I know it has to be done and done right for this thing to have any chance against all the snow and ice it's gonna get every winter. sigh...........back to painting. lol

  • Yes. It's almost finished. I just finished blocking all the joists today and will start laying down the decking planks tomorrow ( God willing). The posts are already up so I just have to not screw up the railing and I'm golden. Hope to have it finished Sat. I'll put up a vid of course if I dont butcher up the railings. LMAO
