  • Oh my god! They're right!!

    Those mascots ARE cute.

    2 more things:

-This video would be much more effective if it wasn't so annoying.

-I agree with all the people who are basically saying "as if America were perfect."

  • China doesn't have to bother with their perception on the west directly. They can fix the problem by simply negotiating with the corporations, who both govern western countries and form the public opinion. And when their profits are concerned, they will even make actions that are directly harmful to their "home" countries. This is a great weakness of the west China is exploiting.

  • @alphemale I know you didn't: I was being ironic, but simply your statement that China dedicated itself to putting on a sporting event for the rest of the world IMPLIES that they did it for our benefit, whereas they did it clearly out of egoistic national motives, which is not unusual, I know. But sport should not be separated: remember South Africa, the boycott was absolutely necessary. And if Berlin had been boycotted, it would have reduced Hitler's power, according to some historians.

  • damn its so true we have been talking about this in school

  • @PeterOzanne i never said the country 'loves the rest of the world so much'

  • @alphemale I'm surprised someone would think that a country has dedicated itself to a sporting event because it loves the rest of the world so much, and not for the same motives as the 1936 Berlin Olympics!

  • I'm surprised that someone would make a video about how awful a country is when they're dedicated to sporting an event for the world.

I really thought the Olympics were about sport and games, not an opportunity to bash another country's decisions/government/actions/etc. And we all have to admit that not every country is a utopia of peace, love, and order. This vid is fuckin' stupid and whiny.

  • Nice try. Not all Americans think they are "perfect". There are plenty of us who are not afraid to criticize the actions of our own country. Hell, those who still support the war in Iraq call us traitors and say we hate America. So don't give me some "you think you're so perfect" bullshit.

  • before telling me to shot up and f you and such, take a moment and think about I am not supporting china or us or anyone else I have suffered from them beyond your imagination. I dont blame them I blame myself, my people, who bought in to their shit and took it to a level they would never hoped so. please be civilized and respect other peoples opinions. that is the first step.
