G1-Geomagnetic Storm in effect. The estimated Kp value has risen to 5 which is minor storm levels or a G1 Geomagnetic Storm.
This is the lowest level of storming for the NOAA indices, but common effects are:
- Power Systems: Weak power fluctuations can occur
-Spacecraft Operations: minor impact on satellite operations
-Other Systems: Migratory animals are affected at this and higher levels: Aurora is commonly visible at high latitudes.
A warning for a G2-geomagnetic storm has also been issued.
